Hong Kong 2007

So as you all know i decided to meet christine in hong kong earlier this month... i had such a good time even though i was only there for 4 days...when i first arrived i must admit that i was very closed minded and didn't care for the place...all i could focus on was how dirty it was, and how rude some of the people were. basically i was thinking, "this is so not japan." but it didn't take me very long to realize that i needed to wake up and get past all that because it was a new year in another country, with one of my best friends, and we were going to have a great time.




welcome to hong kong. we stayed in a hostel on nathan road which is the main road with a lot of shops and restaurants...thanks to christine for booking it for us! it was super cheap!

despite how dirty and ugly downtown kowloon appears to be, there is kowloon park which is situated smack-dab in the middle of the city and it was one of the most BEAUTIFUL parks i have ever seen. it's absolutely HUGE. it was so green and there were a lot of older people walking, stretching, and doing tai chi. very peaceful :)

then we stopped by this beautiful monastery (monastary? i don't know how to spell...) i really wish i could remember the name of this place...gomen ne!








hong kong disneyland - 1 year anniversary







hong kong disneyland was really nice and everything is so new! but it's really small!!! they don't have nearly half the rides that the tokyo and LA ones do...we only rode space mountain and spent the rest of the day taking pictures with all of the characters hehe. it's funny because EVERYONE you pass tells you to "have a magical day" christine thought it was so cute, so she started to tell everyone to have a "magical" day...crazy girl...

it was a great trip! christine and i had a lot of catching up to do! we did more than our share of shopping and eating, but by the end we were excited about getting back to japan.
