Golden Week 2008: Part Two-Kyoto and Tokyo
We were sad to be back in Japan, but at least we had a few more days before we had to go back to work. Since we flew in and out of Kansai airport we decided to spend a couple days in the area since Lana had never spent time there. Tehani (my old coworker) is living in Okayama right now. She finished working for Amity in February and is now going to a Japanese language school in Okayama (same city that we trained in). Tehani was able to meet us in Osaka so at least I had that to look forward to! It was so great to see her again. It was like nothing had changed. :)
Kansai Kukoo
I like trains :) hahaha I'd never seen one like this before! very cool :)
kirei deshoo?
we dropped our stuff off at our hotel in osaka and then it was straight to kyoto to meet tehani. tehani and i have been to kyoto numerous times, but the one thing we both haven't done was the philosophers stroll. this walking path takes you along a canal and through some of kyoto's famous temples. it is said that people walk this path when they need inspiration, and it often comes to them. we got really lost in the beginning and ended up going in a circle, so because the sun was going down already we only made it about a 1/4 of the way there...so we got really lost on our path to enlightenment...what does that tell us? hahaha...damn it we need DIRECTION!
4 flavors in one!
all that indo food made lana and i really crave some good old plain japanese soba
the next day it was off to nara park
kiyomizudera

gion corner-geisha teahouses
we were starving and had never done shabu shabu in japan (can you believe that?) haha so we splurged!
stolen umbrellas...a very serious problem facing japan's society...i have been a victim of this on a few occassions already...haha i try to be very good about not taking other people's umbrellas but kim on the other hand always takes the wrong ones when we leave restaurants and karaoke so for that reason this restaurant had to put up locks!!
mitte! osaka jo da yo!
